Arc Raiders is set to unveil its highly anticipated update, Shrouded Sky, which introduces a new Arc threat and revamps existing maps within the game. This excitement follows the solid debut of Arc Raiders at the end of last year, which has successfully continued to thrive into 2026, attracting a steady player base with thousands logging in daily.

To sustain this momentum, Embark Studios has laid out an ambitious schedule for significant updates throughout the first four months of the year, starting with the Headwinds update in January.

Here’s an overview of what we can anticipate with the upcoming Shrouded Sky update.

Shrouded Sky Release Date

While an official release date for the Shrouded Sky update has yet to be announced, it is expected to launch sometime in February. Historically, Arc Raiders releases its patches on Tuesdays, making February 24 the most likely candidate for the update, though this is still to be officially confirmed.

Map Enhancements

The upcoming update marks the first major adjustment to the game’s maps. While specific details are still under wraps, players can expect slight modifications to current map layouts, including the addition of new Points of Interest (POIs) or tweaks to existing ones.

Moreover, a new environmental condition will be introduced, enhancing gameplay complexity. This new condition will complement existing modifiers like Electromagnetic Storm and Lush Blooms, impacting the weather dynamics and loot availability.

Introduction of a New Arc Threat

Another exciting feature of Shrouded Sky is the addition of a new Arc threat. Although details are sparse, this could signify the arrival of an entirely new enemy type, enhancing the combat experience. Currently, players only face off against the Shredders in Stella Montis.

Alternatively, we might see unique variants of existing enemies, each possessing distinct weapons and attributes, as developers aim to diversify interactions with familiar foes. Furthermore, Virgil Watkins, the design lead, hinted that Shredders could eventually spread beyond their current territory, enriching the game’s narrative and challenges on different maps.
