Rebellion has exciting news for fans of their post-apocalyptic survival RPG, Atomfall. Following its recognition for winning the Best British Game award at this year’s BAFTA Game Awards, a television adaptation of the game is officially in the works.

Atomfall is set in a reimagined 1960s, where the British government’s clandestine nuclear energy experiments in the scenic Lake District lead to an unforeseen disaster. This incident transforms the area into a nightmarish landscape filled with unspeakable horrors.

Players take on the role of an unnamed protagonist who awakens in a quarantine zone, stripped of their memories. As they navigate through this hostile environment, they must fend off military forces and other grotesque threats while uncovering the truth behind the catastrophic events.

Expanding the Lore: Rebellion’s Foray into Television

Announced on April 30, shortly after its outstanding win at the BAFTAs, the Atomfall TV series aims to deepen the narrative established in the game. Though the press release remains vague about whether the series will be live-action, it promises to enhance the game’s mythology while upholding the original tone and themes that resonate with its British heritage.

The adaptation is being produced by Two Brothers Pictures. Co-founders Jason and Chris Kingsley expressed their excitement about collaborating with the production company. They highlighted the duo’s genuine enthusiasm for the game, recalling specific endings they crafted during gameplay.

“Partnering with Two Brothers to bring the world of Atomfall to the screen is a thrilling prospect. Harry and Jack’s passion for the game is evident, and we share a commitment to storytelling that excites both fans and newcomers to the franchise, ” they stated.

While the release date and cast details are yet to be announced, fans eagerly anticipate more updates on this groundbreaking project. Stay tuned as we’ll provide the latest information as it becomes available.
