Bakugo’s Coping in the Wake of My Hero Academia’s Final War

Despite the significant impact of My Hero Academia’s final war on many members of the main cast, including Shoto Todoroki and Ochaco Uraraka, it is noteworthy that Katsuki Bakugo, who is typically known for his emotional outbursts, has been coping with the aftermath exceptionally well. This could be attributed not to his emotional maturity or immaturity, but rather the fact that Bakugo had no personal ties to the adversaries in this particular arc.

Despite Bakugo’s lack of history with the characters involved in My Hero Academia’s final war, he approached the situation with a solely professional mindset. However, Shoto had to confront his brother Dabi and the complicated drama surrounding him. Additionally, Uraraka had faced Himiko Toga multiple times throughout the series, creating a personal motivation for her to prevent the villain from causing harm to others.

Please note that this article includes spoilers for the My Hero Academia series.

The latest chapter, 425, of the manga revealed Ochaco Uraraka’s visible unease and anxiety in the aftermath of the final war arc in My Hero Academia. It is understandable, as this was her first experience in a conflict of such magnitude. Her encounter with Himiko Toga and the fear of not being able to save her has greatly impacted her current state of mind.

Shoto Todoroki’s conflict with Dabi serves as an even more extreme example of this situation. As brothers who both endured suffering under their parents’ roof, their personal feud runs deep. Despite Shoto’s attempts to reconcile with his family, Dabi’s only desire is to cause chaos and inflict pain on others. This has created a complex and unresolved situation for the Todoroki family, as evidenced by the cliffhanger in chapter 425, hinting that a resolution is still yet to be reached.

Despite lacking any connections with the likes of Tomura Shigaraki and All For One, Katsuki Bakugo still played a crucial role in the final war of My Hero Academia. His main objective was to stop the villains and his strongest personal connection was with Deku, who has been the central focus of his character development throughout the series.

What could happen to these characters in the epilogue?

Despite the conclusion of the final war arc in My Hero Academia, the repercussions continue to be felt, as seen in chapter 425. The chapter left readers with a cliffhanger, showing Endeavor in a wheelchair, observing a colossal device before him. This has sparked speculation among fans that the upcoming chapter may revolve around the Todoroki family and possibly reveal Dabi’s identity.

Moreover, the fandom has been divided over the possibility that the mysterious new character introduced in chapter 425 is actually Tomura Shigaraki returning in some form. If this proves to be true, it is bound to be a controversial decision, although it is important to note that the manga did not clearly reveal the identity of this character.

Despite the confirmation in chapter 424 that Katsuki Bakugo’s arm was rendered essentially useless following the final war in My Hero Academia, he still found some closure. It is highly likely that he will have one last opportunity to confront Deku before the series concludes.

Final Thoughts

Despite the undeniable toll that My Hero Academia’s final war arc took on various characters, there is speculation that Bakugo has coped with the aftermath more effectively than Shoto and Uraraka. It should be noted, however, that the battles Bakugo participated in were not personally significant to him.
