Baldur’s Gate 3 bug keeps player alive with 0 Life Points

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player encountered a “crazy” hit point (HP) bug that kept him alive, even though his Tav was at 0 HP.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has had several strange bugs, like many other games. Players claim that some gameplay errors, like the repeated death animation bug, actually elevate the gaming experience. >

In the meantime, it is not uncommon for certain problems to add new fun from time to time. A Baldur’s Gate 3 player who recently encountered an issue like this couldn’t help but laugh at the strange circumstance he found himself in.

Luckily for him, it seems everything ended well.

Baldur’s Gate 3 HP bug doesn’t let player die

User u/Rowanever shared details of his ticketing issues on Reddit. According to the player, his Tav was “hit”during a fight with harpies on a beach and began to slowly bleed.

Shadowheart healed the hero to 0 HP, which, to the player’s surprise, actually awakened his character. “[Tav] gets up to continue the fight. With 0 HP. Finish the fight by killing the rest of the harpies himself.”

Once the battle was over, the game updated the player’s status to “dead”, despite the character walking around unharmed. In a later post, the user noted that enemies were ignoring him because his Tav was considered deceased.

In the comments, the player said that this Baldur’s Gate 3 HP bug also caused “every jump to be marked as leading to death.”

Other fans seemed intrigued by the bug, with one writing: “Shadowheart either did the best or worst healing possible. What an incredible bug.”

Someone said they previously faced a similar issue where Shadowheart was walking around with “dead”status after a supposedly fatal explosion. A Long Rest settled things in their favor.

Interestingly, the original poster said that a Long Rest also fixed their problem. But at least they got to enjoy the “ghost” game while it lasted. So, if this bug occurs in your game of Baldur’s Gate 3, you will know how to fix it.
