A Baldur’s Gate 3 player discovered an alternate class for Gayle and it’s simply the perfect combination.
Every companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 seems perfect for the premade classes. Many do not see Wyll or Karlach as anything other than Occultist and Barbarian. This is all the more true as their stories correspond perfectly to their classes and personalities.
However, this doesn’t always stop players from getting upset from time to time, especially when managing a character of the same class as a key companion /span>. Such is the case with Gayle, who often overshadows any other magician in the game. Until one player creates the perfect alternate class for everyone’s favorite magic eater.
Baldur’s Gate 3 player finds perfect solution to stop Gayle casting shadow
Sharing his idea on Reddit, player u/DONGBONGER3000 suggested doing the following if you find Gayle is too present: “Turn Gayle into a wild magic barbarian, all his dialogue becomes fucking funny because he’s this deranged lunatic who thinks he’s a magician because of the random magic stuff that happens to him.”
He then explained how funny it is when Tav also chooses magician, “because all his relationship dialogue is about how much of an incredible magician he is.”Which means Tav/Dark Impulses is like “Yesssssss you are a very powerful magician *pats head while he eats your boots*” .

The post quickly took off, with thousands of fans loving the idea of a wild magic barbarian who believes himself to be a powerful magician.
One fan, who had already tried it, revealed a bonus element to the incredible creation: “You can hear his barbarian scream. Looks like he discovered an overdue library book.”
Others then revealed how funny his story becomes when he’s not a real magician. They explained that he’s “even funnier because he thinks Mystra liked him because he was a prodigy, when in reality it’s because he’s a magical hunk.”
Whether it’s your first or fifth playthrough, there’s always room for another attempt. Especially if it includes Gayle as a wild magic barbarian.
