Baldur’s Gate 3 players are fed up with in-game lies

Some members of the Baldur’s Gate 3 community are mocking the “lies”they’ve found in various character names.

Each of the characters players encounter in Baldur’s Gate 3 has a richly crafted narrative to share, a history and mythology that further develops them.

This includes the titles of some of these characters, which give clues about their profession or past that people might not have known before.

However, some Baldur’s Gate 3 fans have found these titles and names misleading, and are amused by this.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Expose Character Name ‘Lies’

In a post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, a player made a post titled: “I’m sick of the lies in this game.”

I’m sick and tired of the lies in this game byu/andre-js inBaldursGate3

But instead of something too serious, the post talks about various names that are actually not entirely true in the game:

“Blood of Lathander – is not blood, Iron Throne – not a throne, Nightsong – not a song, Blade of Avernus – not a blade, The Emperor – not an emperor.»

Responses also followed this pattern, with more users pointing to other names that fit this description.

“Shadowheart – has a heart full of silliness and optimism.»

Some have even gone further and more specifically in what they analyze: “A’star’ion. It’s GALE who explodes when he dies. Do better, Bryan.»

One Baldur’s Gate 3 player even used the joke as a way to nod to another well-known gaming fiasco from a few years ago:

“Looks like I’m playing Cyberpunk 2077 with all the lies involved lol.»

It’s a fun joke that the community enjoys, begging the question: can the game do something wrong? It seems not to the fans.
