Baldur’s Gate 3 players are fed up with this overly intrusive NPC

Baldur’s Gate 3 players are annoyed by a certain NPC who keeps telling them what to do, despite the fact that the game allows them to make their own decisions.

At the start of the game, Baldur’s Gate 3 players have the option to create and even customize their own Guardian, an NPC who will essentially guide them throughout their adventure.

In addition to appearing in cutscenes, he can also offer advice and even warn players if they try to do something that will result in chaos.

But despite its intentions to guide you, players have expressed displeasure at being dictated to in their actions. One person even mentioned that it is equivalent to an “integrated Twitch chat.”

In a Reddit thread addressing the Guardian’s behavior, players shared some incidents that annoyed them with this NPC.

“When the ‘keeper’ is like ‘try something else’, like dude, stop backseating. I’m not going to eat a fucking tadpole. I don’t care if it makes me more powerful. I say no to drugs,” one person wrote.

Others in the comments shared a similar experience, and one person even wished there was an option to make this NPC mute. They said, “I don’t care what he has to say. I did several full playthroughs.”

Another player claimed to be annoyed because the NPC kept saying, “Hey, there’s a parasite in that corpse!”

They said, “Yes, I know, I’ll throw it in my camp chest like everyone else. I’m not going to eat your mental slugs.”

“‘It will not work! ‘ Fuck you , you bitch, it had a 70% chance of working, and you know it very well,” another added.

For the uninitiated, the Guardian in Baldur’s Gate 3 suggests players eat tadpoles to become more powerful. Although it depends on the player’s choice, the Guardian will still notify you if there is a tadpole nearby, no matter what.
