Many players of Baldur’s Gate 3 confess to skipping this section of the game in order to reach a specific point faster, even if it means finding the missing XP elsewhere.
After successfully completing the game for the first time, there is likely to be at least one part that you will dread in your next run of Baldur’s Gate 3. For certain players, this could mean facing the Addled Frog near Auntie Ethel’s house or even traveling to Grymforge to defeat the main antagonist.
Despite the passage of about a year, one thing that has remained unchanged is how a portion of the community still chooses to skip the Gauntlet of Shar in their run, ever since someone discovered a method to do so.
Despite the Faith Leap Trial being ‘fixed’ in Patch 7, a Reddit thread serves as a reminder of how frustrating this part of Baldur’s Gate 3 can be for players. Some may even consider skipping it, despite the availability of methods to cheese the trial.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players had enough of Shar’s Trials.
In response to an image depicting savescumming during the entire Faith Leap Trial, a user commented: “That’s exactly why Knock was created. Nobody wants to waste time on the tedious trials of the second-rate B**** Queen.”
In the meantime, a user commented, “You can obtain the ‘missing’ XP from other sources. The first time completing the gauntlet is sufficient. The second time is tedious, and by the third time, forget about it.”
“Indeed, it is quite frustrating. That room is my least favorite in the game. I’ve reached a point where I simply collect the other three Umbral Gems and use Feather Fall to descend to the platform. I am aware that I could also Knock on the door, but I might as well gain the experience from completing the other two tasks,”added another user.
“One of us chimed in, saying that they would just grab the one gem from Yugir and then use Knock on the other door.”
While it is not necessary to collect all of the Umbral Gems, it is still possible to advance to Shadowfell. However, for those seeking to increase Shadowheart’s approval in Act 2 or to experience more of the story, completing each trial at least once can be beneficial.
