Baldur’s Gate 3 offers numerous choices for players with a penchant for evil, but one individual may have discovered the most malicious dialogue option in the game.
For those who wish to embrace the dark side in Baldur’s Gate 3, the Dark Urge Origin offers a ready-made option where players can casually choose to commit terrible murders. However, even players who choose a different Origin can still partake in heinous deeds, such as leaving Scratch the Dog in a cage.
Through a discussion on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Reddit, it was revealed that some of the most harrowing choices in the game are made unintentionally, without careful consideration of the consequences. One example was when the OP allowed Yenna to be murdered by Orin, resulting in a distressing scene.
According to the OP, Orin disguised herself as Lae’zel and presented Yenna as Orin. The OP, who had encountered this situation before, recognized that Orin was actually Lae’zel. Despite this, the OP decided to attempt to save her and made an intimidation check, which unfortunately failed. This led to Orin pulling out her blade and offering more dialogue options.
They continued, saying something along the lines of, “I don’t recall the exact words, but one person mentioned that they didn’t care if she was Orin or not, they wanted her dead.”I chose to act on this and it led to Yenna pleading for my assistance as Orin threatened to harm her.
“One user confessed, “Breaking Alfira’s lute was probably the meanest and cruelest thing I’ve ever done. Although I found it slightly amusing, I also felt terrible about it.”The user also mentioned saying to Wyll, “Listen Wyll, she manipulated me into it. You, of all people, should understand”or “Can you really blame me? It’s not like you’ve been putting out.”The user admitted that cheating on Wyll with Mizora was truly diabolical.”
Romances can often involve harsh rejections. Lae’zel, in particular, can be quite vulnerable at times and you have the choice to either call her pathetic or claim that you only used her for s-x. The same goes for Karlach, as you have the option to say some truly awful things to her as well.
One player may have discovered the most impactful moment. “I ended things with Astarion, explaining that I am unable to handle his trauma. His reply is the most stunning line in the game. “You have given me priceless, unattainable moments of solace. All I truly desired was a few more.”
Similar to its D&D origins, Baldur’s Gate 3 showcases a significant amount of fatality and destruction. You have the freedom to battle and defeat various intelligent creatures without any moral hesitation. After all, they are typically the ones who initiate the conflict, and you have the right to protect yourself, even if it means using deadly force.
In the game, it is the small acts of pettiness and misery that stand out even more than the murder itself. The hurtful and excruciating words used to torment other players may be hard to say, but they are the moments that leave a lasting impression.
