Baldur’s Gate 3 Players Impressed After Honour Mode Run Ends in the First Room

It is quite impressive that a single player in Baldur’s Gate 3 was able to prematurely end their Honour Mode run without even stepping out of the first room. Their bad luck is truly unfortunate.

The adventures in Baldur’s Gate 3’s Honour Mode are not always simple. The fear of losing the entire game after a total party wipe can instill a sense of caution and fear as players strive to rid themselves of the dreaded tadpole.

Despite typically occurring later in the game, players often experience caution and fear once they are invested in their choices and companions. This task is usually manageable, but one player has surprised and impressed others by ending their Honour Mode run at the earliest stage.

A Baldur’s Gate 3 player shared their unfortunate experience on Reddit, where they revealed how they died in the first room. They explained that after escaping their pod, they followed the common player tactic of destroying the brine lanterns. However, this action resulted in their Sorcerer losing a few hitpoints due to the brine.

After this, they tried to steer clear of the brine but were unsuccessful and ended up taking further damage. With only three hitpoints remaining, they recounted their desperate attempt to reach the restoration device, but unfortunately the brine blocked their path. Despite carefully jumping, they still landed on the brine, resulting in 3 more points of damage. It was a losing battle.

This loss took place prior to their departure from the room and before they had encountered any companions, indicating that very little affection was lost, except for the detailed character creation process.

Despite causing confusion for some players, the failure was deemed understandable and even impressive by many.

During a game of Baldur’s Gate 3, one player exclaimed, “I am extremely impressed at the moment. You might have broken a record.”Another player suggested that this could create a whole new category for speedrunning. While it may not be the most intense challenge, attempting to die as quickly as possible in Baldur’s Gate 3 is undeniably hilarious.

Despite impressing many, there were also those who shared their own mishaps, indicating that more than one player has experienced death in this manner. One player even mentioned, “That’s exactly how I died within the first minute of playing this game!”

In the end, it remains uncertain if the player took away any lessons from this experience, as many will enter the game and demolish the lanterns and items in the room – however, this further emphasizes the necessity of having a restoration device readily available in that location.
