Baldur’s Gate 3 Trick: Removing a Hated NPC in the Most Satisfying Way

Gamers of Baldur’s Gate 3 have shared the most effective methods for handling a specific NPC who is widely despised for their behavior and demeanor.

In Faerun, you may encounter unkind individuals, and Baldur’s Gate 3 has some of the worst characters to prove it. Among them, there is a particular NPC who is despised by the community more than any other – Wulbren Bongle.

After completing all the tasks and challenges in Act 2, you will come across Wulbren Bongle in the prison of Moonrise Tower. He will ask for your assistance in freeing him. However, when you encounter him again at the Last Light Inn, the deep gnome does not seem grateful despite all your efforts.

In addition, his rudeness towards Barcus and open animosity towards the Gondians make him a highly detestable character overall – to the extent that there is a dedicated subreddit for expressing hatred towards him. As a form of retaliation, players have brainstormed various ways in a Reddit thread to find some usefulness for him in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans won’t let Wulbren disrespect Barcus.

According to one player, if you happen to be attempting to enter Wyrm’s Crossing and the Ironhands suddenly engage in a battle with the Steel Watch and Flaming Fists, it is best to stay out of it and allow the Fists to survive. Once the altercation is over, you can approach one of the Fists who will reveal that they have been searching for the hideout of the terrorist cell.

If you accept the offer to assist, you will be given a reward for delivering Wulbren’s head to them. This not only allows you to keep all the explosives in his hideout, but you will also be compensated for killing Wulbren. However, in order for this plan to be successful, you must first rescue the Ironhands in the Act 1 forge.

After taking this advice, a different user added their own experience with dealing with him. They suggested, “Alternatively, you could destroy the steel watch and throw him into the ocean. This would grant you 800 gold and potentially two inspirations – one for criminal and one for Jaheira. Or, if collecting his head is your preference, you could save it.”

Despite being one of the most despised characters in Baldur’s Gate 3, Wulbren continues to evoke strong negative emotions among players. Nevertheless, with a plethora of available options, players are always encouraged to devise their own strategies for either exploiting or eliminating the unlikable deep gnome character.
