Gayle, the prodigy wizard from Baldur’s Gate 3, will introduce players to his cat, Tara, during their adventure. However, Tara is not an ordinary pet, as she gives the player the opportunity to obtain powerful magical items. If you choose Gayle as your Origin character and start playing the game as him, you’ll quickly find Tara sitting in your camp during the first Long Rest. It will provide Gayle with the first magic item he must consume when he wakes up, and it will be available at any time.

If you play as the original character, you will meet Tara after reaching the first part of Act 3. Indeed, she nestles on the roofs of the Temple of the Outstretched Hand (X:-56, Y: -5). The only way to trade with Tara in Baldur’s Gate 3 is to give her Pisces or magic items. In exchange, she will give you great rewards.

To do this, players will need to have Fish in their inventories. They will then have to ask Tara to bargain with them. If the item is good enough for Tara, she will give you a magic item as a reward.
