The “Weekly Music Industry Report,”revealed by Representative Min Hyung Bae from the Democratic Party during the audit of the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee on October 24, featured disparaging remarks. These included statements like, “They made their debut at a stage in life when they are particularly deemed unattractive,” “None have the conventional idol-like aesthetics,” “There’s a noticeable focus on looks and sexual appeal,” “Interestingly, none are considered attractive,” and “Surprisingly unattractive.” The document also contained assessments of the appearances of minors, sparking significant backlash.
In light of these comments, Zico took to Instagram to state that he had never received the email containing the report.
He expressed, “What is going on… After reading today’s article, I felt compelled to address this matter directly. I wasn’t aware of that document, nor have I ever accessed that email… It was only through the news today that I discovered I was listed among the recipients. I’m uncertain if my clarification will lead to further misunderstandings. Thus, before sharing my perspective, I checked with KOZ and confirmed that they also never opened the email or document. Wishing everyone a calm day.”
