The Executive Chairman was determined to persuade the renowned French chef to join their hotel, given his esteemed status as a top chef. However, the chef had several seemingly unattainable requests, prompting them to seek assistance from Sasakura in persuading him to reconsider.
The Division Chief, Kurushima, and Higuchi brought the chef to Eden Hall one day, where they offered him a challenge. They promised to stop pestering him about joining their hotel if he could correctly guess the drink that Sasakura prepared for him. However, if he was wrong, he would have to consider their offer. The chef, who was confident in his skills, eagerly accepted the challenge.
Despite his initial guess being that the aged Oloroso was about 20 years old, it turned out to be Mirin, a cooking ingredient, which came as a surprise to him. This caused the chef to accuse Sasakura of trickery and feel upset. However, after Sasakura accurately uncovered his preconceptions about Japanese people, the chef’s opinion changed and he agreed to consider the hotel’s offer.
The second part of the episode shifted its focus to Kyouko Kawakami, a troubled bartender who lacked confidence in her abilities. Her repeated failures in making a satisfactory cocktail had caused her to question the type of bartender she aspired to become.
Despite initially being upset by Sasakura’s blunt advice, which she recognized as necessary, the protagonist gained a deeper understanding of her mistakes after visiting a bar that Sasakura used to frequent. She was able to see the individuality and uniqueness of each cocktail created by different bartenders. This experience marked the end of the episode.
