Black Ops 6 Beta Plagued by Cheaters and Crossplay Complaints

The beta for Call of Duty’s Black Ops 6 has only been available for less than a day and there are already numerous cheaters in lobbies.

The early access open beta for Black Ops 6 started on August 30 for those who pre-ordered any version of the game. This marked the first occasion where Activision launched a CoD beta on all available platforms at once.

Despite only being a few hours into the beta, players were already observed using cheats. The introduction of crossplay was heavily criticized and many pointed to the absence of an anti-cheat system as the reason for the beta’s disappointing experience.

“How is this possible? It hasn’t even been 24 hours,”one person exclaimed. “Why are you all so shocked? I’m surprised that you’re surprised,”another person added.

“Unfortunately, I have to admit that two out of my 18 games were also blatantly using walling,”stated the player.

Some players criticized the developers for not implementing an anti-cheat system. One user responded, “It’s incredibly disappointing that they refuse to include a legitimate anti-cheat.”

“I stopped playing this franchise for this very reason. According to another source, the game developers prioritize cheaters over genuine players and neglect the needs of their player base.”

In addition, many have pointed to the option for crossplay across all platforms as the root of the issue. One player stated, “Yes, and it will only continue to deteriorate. It is now necessary for Treyarch to allow console players to exclusively play against other console players. Being forced to play with PC players is simply unacceptable.”

“Since there are PCs, it’s only natural that there will be cheaters. Unfortunately, they have caused problems in every game that permits their presence.”

Despite concerns raised by players about the activation of the RICHOHET anti-cheat system during the beta phase for Black Ops 6, the developers released a statement addressing these concerns.

“Throughout the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta, we will be evaluating features and closely monitoring telemetry data. We understand that this is an ongoing effort, and #TeamRICOCHET is dedicated to enhancing its systems in order to effectively prevent, detect, and remove cheaters from our games.”

We eagerly anticipate the launch of Black Ops 6 Day One with the full implementation of the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system.

If you are unable to participate in the early-access beta for Black Ops 6, there will be another opportunity to play the game through the open beta starting on September 6 at 10 AM PT until September 9 at 10 AM PT.

The release date for Black Ops 6 is October 25, 2024.
