As players dive into Season 2 of Black Ops 6, there’s a palpable excitement regarding the enhancements made to Ranked Play. However, an important request remains at the forefront of the community’s desires.

One of the most notable additions in Season 2 is the option for PlayStation and Xbox users to disable cross-play in both BO6 and Warzone Ranked Play. This change significantly reduces the likelihood of console players encountering hackers, as reports suggest that most cheating issues are prevalent on PC.

Additionally, the integration of the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system has led to the implementation of enhanced detection measures aimed at combating malicious behavior, including aim botting. By focusing on account trust and hardware identifiers, this initiative effectively targets serial offenders within the game.

The recent seasonal update also unveiled a Vote to Forfeit feature, empowering players to collectively decide to exit a match that has become unwinnable. While these updates have undoubtedly enriched the Ranked Play experience, the community is eager for further improvements.

Community Calls for Enhanced Weapon Balancing in Ranked Play

Treyarch has announced that two new maps, Bounty and Dealership, will temporarily join the Ranked Play rotation until February 14. This evaluation phase allows players to provide feedback using the hashtag #BO6RankedPlay on Twitter to express their opinions regarding the permanent inclusion of these maps.

This opportunity has sparked intense discussions about the recent weapon additions, with players expressing disappointment over the Season 2 weapon evaluation.

With the launch of Season 2 on January 28, Treyarch introduced the PPSh-41 SMG and Cypher 091 Assault Rifle to the Ranked Play weapons pool for a limited testing period. Initial feedback indicated that the Cypher 091 AR significantly outclassed the AMES-85, while the PPSh-41 fell short of expectations, struggling to compete with the KSV and Jackal PDW.

In response to the underperformance in Warzone, Raven Software has already implemented a buff for the PPSh-41. This has led to frustrations among players, who question the decision to introduce these weapons into Ranked Play before ensuring they were appropriately balanced.

This premature deployment has sparked calls from players for the removal of both weapons from the competitive scene. Former professional CoD player Parasite notably urged, “Remove the Cypher, please.” Similarly, content creator LunchTime expressed the desire for the Cypher to be swiftly eliminated.

While it is disappointing that these weapons have not carved out a successful niche within the BO6 competitive landscape, there is hope that a later testing phase might yield better results for future additions.
