Players participating in the beta for Black Ops 6 have observed a significant decrease in the level of aim assist compared to previous titles. According to a developer at Treyarch, this change has been intentionally implemented.
The ongoing discussion among players regarding the inclusion of aim assist in Call of Duty, particularly with the added feature of cross-platform play between consoles and PC, has been a never-ending debate.
As the release of the Black Ops 6 beta approached, Warzone players began to express concern about the possibility of aim assist being unchanged in the upcoming game. This was fueled by videos from the COD NEXT preview event.

During the beta, JGOD, a popular Call of Duty streamer, demonstrated the absence of aim assist at different distances and took to social media to confirm that the aim assist nerfs in this installment are indeed significant.
According to a tweet from Matt Scronce, the Associate Director of Design at Treyarch, the findings have been confirmed on social media and he stated that “tweaks have been made.”
“Scronce stated that the Aim Assist Type has been removed in order to create a level playing field for all players. Further information will be shared soon.”
The advanced movements available in this game have led creators to observe that players using a mouse and keyboard may be at a disadvantage compared to those using controllers due to the presence of aim assist. This has been pointed out by multiple creators.
The new Omnimovement mechanic should theoretically make it easier to track enemies flying around, especially with the game’s assistance in following targets.
With the implementation of this adjustment to aim assist, both play styles may be on an even footing, at least during the beta. It is uncertain if these modifications will be present in the official launch of Black Ops 6.
Despite this, players are expressing extreme joy at the news of Call of Duty implementing changes to aim assist, with numerous replies applauding the developer for their decision.
