Players of Black Ops 6 are expressing their frustration as the PlayStation Network (PSN) experiences significant downtime, severely disrupting their gaming sessions. The ongoing PSN outage has left many unable to participate in any aspect of the game.

On the evening of Friday, February 7, reports emerged from players worldwide indicating that the PlayStation Network had unexpectedly gone offline. As of this writing, the outage has persisted for nearly 20 hours, affecting a myriad of games that rely on online connectivity, including popular titles such as Call of Duty, Destiny 2, and Fortnite.

Adding to this frustration, both Black Ops 6 and Destiny 2 fans had eagerly anticipated special events, with Black Ops 6 hosting a Double XP Weekend and Destiny 2 launching a 48-hour Contest Mode coincidentally starting on February 7. However, players found themselves unable to fully enjoy these events due to the network issues.

Campaign Mode Unavailable During PSN Outage

Players on the Black Ops 6 subreddit are venting their frustrations over the PSN disruption. While many understood that the multiplayer modes would be inaccessible, the inability to play the single-player campaign mode has left numerous fans incredulous. Many recent installments of Call of Duty, including Black Ops 6, are rendered unplayable on PlayStation systems.

Evidence of the disappointment can be seen in a screenshot shared on Reddit, revealing the message: “No Game Available To Play While Offline.” This appears even when attempting to access the game’s story mode.

Participating community members have voiced their opinions, with one user stating, “So dumb. Every campaign should be playable offline.” Another contributor echoed this sentiment, remarking, “That’s my problem with games nowadays, you shouldn’t always have to be connected to play a game.”

A different thread in the subreddit highlights similar grievances, with fans lamenting, “Yeah not being able to play a game I paid for without internet is ridiculous, I figured I could re-run the campaign but nope needs an internet connection.”

This ongoing outage, now lasting nearly 20 hours, marks the longest downtime for the PSN since the infamous hack in 2011, when PlayStation services were offline from April 20 to May 14.
