Activision has recently unveiled the key art for Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2, generating excitement among players who noticed the anticipated return of two classic weapons. This new season promises an interesting lineup for weapons enthusiasts.

The debut of BO6 introduced a total of seven new weapons, elevating the overall inventory to a comprehensive count of 40. While some, such as the Maelstrom and Siri 9mm, failed to impress players, others like the Krig C and AMR Mod 4 emerged as formidable choices in the competitive meta.

While the exact number of weapons slated for Season 2 is still under wraps, the community is buzzing with anticipation following Treyarch’s hint that a legendary SMG from Zombies history would feature in the update. Initially, many speculated that this weapon could be the MP40—a staple in almost every Zombies edition, except for Black Ops Cold War. However, the key art has clarified that a different weapon will take the spotlight.

Iconic Weapons Making a Comeback in Season 2

Recent images shared by CharlieIntel have revealed details about the upcoming season. The artwork depicts an operator donning a black hood, dual-wielding the nostalgic PPSh-41 SMG. In contrast, the character in the grey hood is wielding the FAL assault rifle.

The PPSh-41 is certainly a fan favorite, having appeared in every Zombies installment. It’s a versatile SMG that shines in close-quarters combat due to its rapid-fire capabilities. However, players should note that its inconsistent bullet spread and challenging recoil may limit effectiveness at longer distances.

On the other hand, the FAL offers a distinct playstyle as a slow-firing semi-automatic assault rifle renowned for its high damage output. In previous titles, players could eliminate enemies in as few as two shots, solidifying its reputation as a top-tier weapon in multiplayer settings. Additionally, the FAL proved its worth in BO1 Zombies, where it was a trusted choice, complementing the Goblin MK2, the only semi-automatic AR in BO6.

While the expected arrival time for these weapons remains unclear, speculation suggests that players may have to wait until Season 2 Reloaded for one or both to become available, extending the anticipation for fans of the franchise.
