Issues With FPS and Stuttering in Black Ops 7 on Consoles

Since its launch on November 14, players of Black Ops 7 on Xbox and PlayStation have expressed widespread frustration due to persistent low frame rates and game stuttering. Users have taken to social media platforms to describe the experience as “unplayable, ”particularly on the Xbox Series X and PS5 Pro models. Most complaints stem from issues in the 120Hz mode, although players using the 60Hz setting have reported similar difficulties.

One Reddit user voiced their concerns, stating, “It’s been 5 days and this game is still a stuttery, unstable mess on the Series X, ” a sentiment echoed by many others in the thread. Numerous posts highlight the performance woes, with one player outright declaring the game “literally unplayable.”This flood of feedback has drawn attention from the game’s developers.

Treyarch Responds to Console Performance Complaints

In response to the outcry, Treyarch’s community management team has acknowledged the issues and is currently investigating the situation. They have encouraged players to share which specific maps and game modes trigger the FPS drops and stuttering. They also requested video evidence of the issues occurring, particularly with the Server Latency and Packet Loss Telemetry Widgets activated within the interface settings.

As players continue to provide feedback, one noted that the problem occurs across all maps and game modes, while another mentioned having 120Hz enabled with stuttering happening consistently. However, there have been no further updates on the matter from the developers.

While the timeline for resolving these performance issues remains unclear, Treyarch has confirmed they are aware and investigating the matter. In addition to the remedies for FPS challenges, developers are looking to make gameplay adjustments, which may include an increase in aim assist and enhancements to submachine guns (SMGs).

The anticipated changes are expected to be rolled out in the upcoming Season 1 update scheduled for early December, along with various bug fixes. Players are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates on console performance.
