Treyarch’s Matt Scronce has acknowledged the concerns of gamers regarding an “annoying”issue in the upcoming Black Ops 7, which has apparently been leading to headaches for some players.
As anticipation builds for the release of Black Ops 7, fans of Call of Duty have eagerly engaged with the multiplayer and Zombies modes during the beta testing phase. This early access has provided insight into the game, with many players expressing enthusiasm, particularly for the Open Moshpit playlist, where skill-based matchmaking is less stringent.
While there’s been a wave of positive feedback surrounding the beta, several issues have also emerged. Developers have been actively combating in-game cheating, recalibrating the Time to Kill, and addressing widespread dissatisfaction regarding the automatic doors on certain maps.
Sound Adjustments for Nemesis Interaction
Another point of frustration for players is the audio cue that activates when they interact with their in-game “Nemesis.” This sound plays whenever a player consistently wins one-on-one engagements against them, which many have described as “annoying.” In light of these complaints, Matt Scronce took to social media to assure fans that changes are forthcoming ahead of the game’s launch.
That’s the Nemesis sound and we’re reducing the volume a bit on that one for launch.

In response to the commotion, some fans have proposed the inclusion of a sliding scale in the audio settings, allowing players to adjust the volume according to their preference. One user commented, “It might be worth implementing a toggle option for the audio. I appreciate its return as it helps me keep track of whom I need to focus on, ” while also noting the repetitive nature of the jingle.
Another player expressed, “I can see the skull and nemesis text on my screen; a guitar riff isn’t necessary, ” while one frustrated participant stated, “The nemesis guitar sound in Black Ops 7 single-handedly made me uninstall the beta.”
For those keen on tracking Call of Duty developments and updates, stay tuned for further announcements as the launch approaches. Enhancements like these are indicative of Treyarch’s responsiveness to community feedback, underpinning their commitment to delivering an engaging gaming experience.
