Analyzing the Trailer for Bleach TYBW Part 3
The Anime Expo 2024 was the first event to reveal the new trailer for Bleach TYBW part 3. Following this, the PV was streamed worldwide on Aniplex’s official YouTube channel. The promotional video opens with the chanting of “Bankai”by the Soul Reaper captains.
As Ichigo utters the words “Bankai”, the opening theme, “Kotoba ni Zuzu to mo (Without any Last Words)”, performed by SIX LOUNGE, starts playing in the background. The trailer then showcases significant moments from Ichigo Kurosaki’s past adventures, including his intense battle against Yhwach and his powerful use of Getsuga Jujisho.
The trailer for Bleach TYBW part 3 then proceeds to showcase the previously released Bankais, including Byakuya’s Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, Toshiro’s Daiguren Hyorinmaru, Soifon’s Jakuho Raikoben, Genryusai’s Zanka no Tachi, Shinji’s Sakashima Yokoshima Happofusagari, and several others.
It is intriguing to note that Ichibe Hyosube removes the colors from the series logo, rendering it dark. The neon lights are also covered in black, serving as a representation of the darker tone of the upcoming season compared to its predecessors.
After that, Shunsui Kyoraku inquires if everyone is prepared as the Bleach TYBW part 3 trailer officially begins with a sneak peek of his Bankai. The Bankai scene featuring Shunsui in the trailer is a faithful adaptation of chapter 647 in Tite Kubo’s manga, where he utilizes it as a final resort against Lille Barro.
The art style maintains the vitality of the manga while also incorporating colors that enhance Tite Kubo’s brilliance. As SIX LOUNGE’s opening theme plays in the background, we witness Ichigo Kurosaki skillfully deflecting numerous Quincy Arrows with his Zanpakuto.
This specific moment in the trailer strongly suggests that part 3 will feature a unique battle scene between Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida, created specifically for the anime. The arrows used in the scene are clearly Uryu’s, providing further evidence for this theory. It is clear that Pierrot Films has skillfully crafted Ichigo’s actions to match perfectly with the opening theme of SIX Lounge.
The trailer first teases a showdown between Ichigo and Uryu, then switches to a scene of Ichigo Kurosaki showcasing his powerful Getsuga Tensho against Yhwach. This moment in the manga is enhanced by stunning particle effects and Yhwach’s intense reaction.
The brief video clip also features the intense anger of Ichibei Hyosube towards Yhwach. Pierrot Films has utilized a unique method in depicting Ichibei’s powerful attack, Futen Taisatsuryo, by using a monochromatic color scheme.
The trailer for the animation of Yhwach charging at Ichigo effectively showcases Pierrot Film’s production abilities, but it also raises questions about the studio’s approach.
As an illustration, there is a scene exclusive to the anime in which Quincy King destroys Reio (Soul King) with the assistance of Schutzstaffel. Given Tite Kubo’s significant involvement in the production of Bleach TYBW part 3, it is likely that the upcoming installment will expand upon the death of Soul King with additional original content.
The trailer transitions to the second half, accompanied by the ending theme, MONOCHROME by Suiso. In this part of the Bleach TYBW part 3 trailer, we catch a glimpse of Shunsui Kyoraku’s terror as it hints at the death of the Soul King.
In the trailer, we catch a glimpse of Jushiro Ukitake’s ultimate sacrifice as blood drips from his mouth. The rest of the teaser showcases the intense battles of Mimihagi (The Right Arm of the Soul King), Ikkaku Madarame, and Shuhei Hisagi against the powerful creatures unleashed by the Soul King. We also see Renji Abarai’s unwavering determination in the face of these challenges.
The newly released trailer for Bleach TYBW part 3 also hints at Mayuri Kurotsuchi’s Bankai being used against Pernida, as he adjusts his Zanpakuto. The preview then shifts to Uryu Ishida’s confrontation with Senjumaru Shutara, in which he effortlessly evades her restraints and retaliates with his arrows, potentially utilizing his Schrift as well.
Bazz B can be seen in the PV, his eyes filled with determination. According to the manga, he ultimately chooses to ally with the Shinigami upon discovering Yhwach’s true intentions. The PV also includes an original anime scene, depicting the use of the Sun Gate, a portal utilized by the Quincies to travel between large locations.
In addition, the Schutzstaffel members of Yhwach – Askin Nakk le Vaar, Lille Barro, Pernida Parnkgjas, and Gerald Valkyrie – are also seen. Pierrot Films builds up anticipation for part 3 with the trailer’s finale, showcasing a clash between Ichigo and Yhwach. The preview reveals that Ichigo is being manipulated by his Quincy heritage.
Surprisingly, the synchronized voices of Jugram Haschwalth and Yhwach persist even after the trailer’s conclusion. In the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, it is revealed that Jugram serves as a substitute for Yhwach while the Quincy King is asleep.
It is understandable that Jugram and Yhwach’s voices are synchronized in the short clip, as they are two halves of the same being. The poem featured in the trailer’s final moments serves as a representation of the Quincy’s animosity towards the Soul Reapers.
Jugram and Yhwach motivate their soldiers to carry hope, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance. If one side is burdened with hope, the other will be consumed by despair.
Their desire is for their fellow soldiers to never give in to despair, but instead, to envelop themselves in the cloak of hope, allowing everything else to fall into the depths of despair. The trailer for Bleach TYBW part 3 concludes with a somber reminder of the Quincies’ animosity and their unwavering determination to seek vengeance.
