BO6 Developers Confirm Comeback of “Iconic” SMG, Zombies Fans Anticipate Its Identity

Treyarch is generating excitement among the community with hints about the comeback of a legendary Zombies submachine gun (SMG) in Black Ops 6 Season 2. Players are already speculating confidently about which weapon it might be.

This upcoming Black Ops 6 Season 2 update promises to be significant for Zombies enthusiasts. In addition to unveiling the new map titled The Tomb, there will also be several gameplay improvements that fans have long requested, such as the option to pause during co-op sessions.

Moreover, the developers have announced the inclusion of new firearms, highlighting one that is described as “one of the most iconic SMGs in Zombies history.” While the specific identity of this weapon remains under wraps, many community members are convinced it will be the MP40.

Zombies Community Speculates: Is the MP40 Making a Comeback?

Following the recent 115 Day announcement, discussions erupted across social media platforms where players unanimously suggested that the “iconic” SMG must be the MP40. This firearm has been a staple in nearly every Call of Duty Zombies installment, with the exception of Black Ops Cold War, and has been featured as a Wall Buy in classic maps such as Kino der Toten from Black Ops 1 and Origins from Black Ops 2.

Another player stated, “It surely has to be the MP40. Considering The Tomb is essentially the Dark Aether variant of Origins, it makes perfect sense.”

While the MP40 is favored by many, some players suggest that the developers could also be referencing the PPSH-41. Though not featured as frequently as the MP40, numerous fans believe the PPSH-41 has demonstrated superior performance and popularity in the titles where it has appeared.

“You’re chatting mad s**t. PPSH has been the king of SMGs in Zombies since World at War. MP40 is just an average wall buy,” argued a fan in response to a Reddit post.

Another echoed this sentiment: “PPSH, I would argue, is more popular than the MP40.”
