Frida has unveiled an innovative candy called Boogie Bites, a playful addition to the gummy candy market. Launched in October, these sweet and sour gummies are crafted in three whimsical shapes and colors reminiscent of boogers, reflecting the brand’s playful concept.
The creation of Boogie Bites serves a dual purpose; it not only aims to entertain kids but also promotes the brand’s flagship product, NoseFrida, a nasal aspirator designed to alleviate congestion in babies and young children. As per Frida, the gummies are intentionally designed to bear a striking resemblance to “the real thing.”
Boogie Bites: A Sweet Treat, Not an Actual Snack
These gummies will be available exclusively through GoPuff at a price point of $3.99. The product will be accessible in major cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Boston, and Philadelphia.
Frida announced this candy on October 27 via Instagram, stating, “If anyone knows nose nuggs, it’s Frida. In honor of cold + flu season, we’re giving you a whole new [less gross] way to eat your boogers. Introducing Boogie Bites, the treat kids have picked for generations.”
It’s important to clarify that Boogie Bites do not contain any real boogers. The candy is made from ingredients such as tapioca syrup, cane sugar, pectin, natural flavors, and color derived from fruit and vegetable juice.
This is not Frida’s first foray into unconventional flavors; earlier this year, they gained attention for launching breast milk-flavored ice cream, developed in collaboration with OddFellows in New York, although that product has since been discontinued.
