Despite being good friends for years, a noticeable rift has formed between the two women due to the events depicted in Queen Charlotte, the prequel to Bridgerton. The series uncovered the fact that Lady Danbury had a brief affair with Lady Bridgerton’s father after her abusive husband passed away, while he was still married.
