Bridgerton Fans Respond to Pointless Family in Season 3

Although Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1 is receiving positive feedback from audiences, there are some fans who are dissatisfied with the subplot involving the Mondrichs.

The Mondrichs family, consisting of Will, Alice, Nicky, Daisy, and John, are a working class family who were first introduced in Season 1. Will is the owner of the boxing gym and gentlemen’s club that many of the characters often visit.

Nonetheless, in Bridgerton Season 3, it is disclosed that Alice’s great aunt bequeathed a significant inheritance, title, and estate to her eldest son. As a result, the family relocates from their modest accommodations above the club to the more affluent area of the ton.

Despite dedicating some time to exploring how the family is adapting to a life of luxury and support from servants, there are differing opinions among Bridgerton fans about this aspect of the storyline.

“I know I might receive criticism for this, but I personally don’t find the Mondrich’s plotline necessary in an ensemble show with so many other storylines. Additionally, since they are not connected to the books, I am not invested in their storyline,”one fan tweeted.

Another commented, “Why do we need more Mondrichs? I didn’t like them in season 2, so why are they being brought back? I would have preferred to see more of Colin, Penelope, Francesca, and John…. Even Anthony and Kate would have been more interesting! The whole Mondrich storyline is just not engaging.”

Another fan also expressed their thoughts, stating, “I enjoy them, but while watching their scenes, I couldn’t help but feel anxious about the potential screen time that could have been dedicated to #Polin or other main characters.”

Despite the criticism, there are still fans of Bridgerton who appreciate the inclusion of the Mondrichs in the show. In fact, one fan, who goes by the username @carolinerenard_ on Twitter, defended the Mondrichs by stating, “I love them! They provide valuable insight into the inner workings of high society. Plus, their struggles with navigating the strict rules of the ton add depth to the plot. And, as a married couple, they serve as a positive representation of a healthy relationship. Personally, I enjoy the ensemble of characters in this show and don’t understand why some people dislike them.”

A second supporter of Mondrich expressed their love for the fictional couple, tweeting, “What a stunning couple! I’m so happy we got to see more of them this season. They always look amazing and aren’t afraid to dish on the drama of others. We are huge fans.”

Not only do Bridgerton fans appreciate the Mondrichs, but Refinery29 has also recognized them as the “longest, most stable, and healthiest match in the kingdom.”In fact, the publication even urged the show to “give Will and Alice Mondrich a real love scene, you cowards!”

Bridgerton fans can now stream Season 3 Part 1, and mark their calendars for the premiere of Part 2 on June 13.
