British Influencer Dies at 26 After 160ft Fall from Spain’s Tallest Bridge

A content creator tragically lost his life while attempting a dangerous climb of Spain’s tallest bridge without any safety gear.

On Sunday, October 13, a British influencer tragically fell while scaling the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, which stands in Talavera de la Reina, located to the southwest of Madrid.

Details regarding the influencer’s identity remain undisclosed as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding his fall. A local police spokesperson remarked, “The circumstances of the fall remain unclear and will be examined by a local court.”

At the time of the incident, the 26-year-old climber had ascended approximately 160 feet of the 630-foot structure before he fell.

Macarena Munoz, a representative from a regional emergency management agency, confirmed that the influencer was not alone during the incident, as he was with a 24-year-old companion, filming content for social media.

“Our findings indicate they traveled to Talavera specifically to climb the bridge for content creation, which has regrettably led to this tragic incident,” Munoz explained.

Interestingly, while the unfortunate climber was unprotected, his companion managed to descend the bridge without sustaining any injuries.

Although local media indicated that there were adverse weather conditions prior to the accident, Munoz emphasized that climbing the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge is strictly forbidden under any circumstances.

“We have consistently warned that this is not allowed in any situation,” Munoz stated firmly.

While such incidents are rare, this is not the first time a daredevil lost their life while engaging in extreme content creation.

In July 2023, Remi Lucidi tragically fell 720 feet from a Hong Kong skyscraper. The French daredevil plummeted from the 68th floor and was found on a mid-level terrace of the Tregunter Tower.

Earlier this year, a 14-year-old TikToker also met a tragic fate while attempting to take a selfie, as Moe Sa Nay fell into the Sinywa Waterfall in Southeast Asia. After her death, rescuers encountered difficulty retrieving her body, which was wedged between two large rocks, with recovery efforts only succeeding the following day.
