In the upcoming Minecraft Chase the Skies update, Happy Ghasts are set to become one of the most versatile mobs, offering players unique navigation and transport options throughout the blocky realm. These flying creatures enable you to move various entities, including horses, sniffers, and pandas, making them an exciting addition to your gameplay. However, managing these large 4×4 mobs can be tricky given their constant flying. Fortunately, crafting a dedicated station for Happy Ghasts can simplify this process significantly. Let’s dive into how to construct a Happy Ghast station in Minecraft.

Essential Items for Your Happy Ghast Station

For your station, which should be elevated enough to avoid collisions with nearby structures (ideally at least 10-15 blocks high), make sure to gather the following materials:

  • Stairs
  • Building Blocks
  • Fences
  • Chests for harnesses, shears, snowballs, and leads
  • Lanterns (optional for illumination)

Steps to Create Your Happy Ghast Station

To begin, elevate your station by constructing a solid base at least 10-15 blocks above the ground to keep the Happy Ghasts safe from obstacles. Follow the detailed steps below to create a simple yet effective Happy Ghast station.

1. Construct a Stairway

Your first task is to build a stairway, which can be crafted using stairs or wooden/stone blocks. For visual appeal, we recommend using dark oak stairs and dark oak logs for support. Here’s how to proceed:

  • Begin by placing dark oak logs as your base supports.
  • Create a staircase structure using a grid of 10×3 blocks progressively narrowing down to 9×3 and so forth.
  • Overlay each step with dark oak stairs for easier access.
  • Add fences on either side for safety and enhanced aesthetics.

2. Create a Platform

Once your stairway is complete, use logs or stone blocks to build a platform. For accommodating two Happy Ghasts, aim for a 10×5 area platform, while a 4×4 area suffices for one. Here’s how to build it:

  • Position two dark oak logs on either side of the uppermost stair.
  • Extend the logs to achieve a rectangular platform shape.

3. Enclose Your Platform and Add Chests

Next, enclose the platform with fences to ensure safety and keep your Happy Ghasts secure. You should also place one or two chests to store essential items associated with your Happy Ghasts:

  • Harness: To ride the Happy Ghasts.
  • Snowballs: To attract them closer.
  • Lead: To tether them to the fences.
  • Shears: For detaching harnesses and leads.

4. Leash Your Happy Ghasts and Prepare for Flight

Your Happy Ghast station is now equipped to welcome its new residents. Use snowballs or leads to lure the Happy Ghasts and securely tie them to the farthest corners of the fence. This setup eliminates the need to find and wait for a dried ghast block to grow each time you wish to fly.

Feel free to attach more Happy Ghasts while ensuring ample spacing to maintain organization on your platform. Additionally, personalize your Happy Ghast station with unique designs or automated features, such as redstone mechanisms, to enhance functionality.
