Bungie Hints at New Destiny 2 Pantheon Boss Rush Spin-off Following Successful Event

The developers of Destiny 2 have hinted at an exciting new spinoff event, akin to the popular Pantheon event featured in Into The Light, which is expected to debut in the fourth major update next year.

Following significant announcements regarding changes within Bungie, including layoffs and a shift toward a mobile gaming project, the future of the Destiny 2 franchise appeared uncertain. However, recent news has reignited the community’s enthusiasm.

On September 25, Bungie’s announcement outlined a series of major changes, including new raids and a refreshed commitment to providing players with the content they desire. This revitalization has brought much-needed optimism back to the player base.

Within Destiny 2, players faced an intense selection of raid bosses with escalating difficulty in the Pantheon.

Bungie has confirmed that a new event is currently in development for next year’s fourth major update. While the event remains unnamed, it is said to mirror the Pantheon, featuring a boss rush format that challenges Guardians to confront increasingly tough raid bosses one after another.

The developers shared that this upcoming event will enable them to “experiment with legacy raid and dungeon offerings to create surprising aspirational challenges”. Players can anticipate the return of bosses from previous raids, including potentially those that have been sunsetted.

Although Bungie is in the early stages of development for this event, they have committed to providing more details when they become available. As always, significant rewards are expected for participation, alongside enhanced rewards for defeating the more formidable bosses. Moreover, players can look forward to a title for completing the entire challenge, incentivizing hardcore raiders to engage with this new mode.
