Marc Robert ‘Caedrel’ Lamont’s team, Los Ratones, made a remarkable entrance into the competitive scene of the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC), shattering all previous viewership records.
The Mice: A Promising New Contender
Founded in November 2024, Los Ratones has quickly gained recognition by assembling a roster that features popular League of Legends players and content creators, including Simon ‘Thebausffs’ Hofverberg and Carl Martin Erik ‘Rekkles’ Larsson. After much anticipation regarding their competitive debut, it was officially announced on January 2 that they would be participating in the NLC.
A Successful Debut on January 15
The team, led by Caedrel, a notable figure in the League of Legends streaming community, faced off twice on January 15 in their inaugural NLC matches. They scored impressive victories over NORD and Lundqvist Lightside, kicking off their Winter 2025 campaign with an undefeated record of 2-0.
Record-Breaking Viewership Numbers
Caedrel’s streaming presence alone was a significant factor in smashing prior viewership records. His stream attracted a peak of 105,432 viewers. This was enhanced further by individual player streams, resulting in an audience size far beyond the usual metrics for the league. Previously, the NLC peaked at 14,023 viewers; however, during Los Ratones’ matches, concurrent viewers skyrocketed to over 160,000.

The Significant Impact of Caedrel in the NLC
The NLC includes teams from Nordic countries—Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland—as well as the United Kingdom and Ireland, with a total combined prize pool of €10,000. Despite its regional classification, the league has historically attracted modest viewership. The last edition, NLC Summer 2024, peaked at only 1,818 viewers during a match between Verdant from the UK and the Scandinavian club NORD.
However, the entry of Los Ratones has ignited considerable interest not only in their matches but also in the league as a whole. The surge in viewership has captured the attention of various stakeholders. Sami Cunningham, owner of another NLC team, Verdant, took to social media to express his astonishment at the viewing figures, which he described as “quite surreal.”
For game 2, we sat at around 30k concurrent viewers across all streams. To add to all of that, we also had an estimated 650,000 unique viewers watch Verdant last night. Quite surreal.

“For game 2, we averaged about 30,000 concurrent viewers across all streams,” Cunningham noted. “Additionally, we estimated around 650,000 unique viewers for Verdant’s match last night. Quite surreal!”
The Road Ahead for Los Ratones
As Los Ratones continues its quest for victory in the NLC, Thebausffs has confidently predicted that the team will make its way to the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) and perhaps even further.
