Warzone players are somewhat concerned about the changes to Fortune’s Keep after the updated map was revealed for Season 2.
Although Warzone has had four new maps in recent years – Al-Mazrah, Vondel, Ashika Island and Urkizstan – players have missed what was offered before.
Many longtime Warzone players have been asking for the return of Verdansk and Rebirth Island, and the developers are going to bring them back – eventually. Fortune’s Keep, which was added in 2022 as part of Season 4 of Vanguard, returns in Season 2 of Modern Warfare 3 alongside Ranked mode.
This initial news, understandably, excited many players who wanted to return to action on the Resurgence map. However, she will return with quite a few changes designed to keep things fresh, but they haven’t been very well received by fans.
Fortune’s Keep map changes have Warzone players worried
That’s right, Fortune’s Keep will return in Season 2, but not exactly how fans remembered it. Some areas have been destroyed and there is an element of dynamic flooding in the underground portion that has fans worried.
“The ability to submerge the underground part? Pretty cool, but not looking forward to water rat strategies,” one fan said, while others are urging the developers to reconsider the new flooding mechanic.

“This whole middle section looks like a total mess of land with all this destruction. Not sure I’ll like it, but we’ll see how it goes. Also strange that they seem to have removed all the areas that previously had tents and replaced them with buildings,” added another. “Oooof. I’m going to try to stay optimistic here, but that big crater in the middle of the map and WZ 2’s typically new and dull color/brightness palette is really scaring me,” another commented.
Other players called the new lighting a “massive defeat”and urged developers to stop adding “stupid glare”to different Warzone maps.
It’s unlikely there will be any changes to Fortune’s Keep before launch, but if the new changes become problematic afterward, well, they might have to come then.
