Channing Tatum’s New Horror Movie Issues Trigger Warning After It Ends with Us Backlash

Blink Twice and It Ends With Us may seem like an unlikely pairing, but their marketing strategies have been compared following the release of Channing Tatum’s new horror film, which includes a trigger warning for viewers.

You may be familiar with the controversy surrounding the cast of It Ends With Us. Blake Lively’s promotion of the film and the way it tackles the issue of domestic violence is just one reason that has sparked outrage, along with a recently resurfaced interview that has now gone viral.

Despite the overwhelming popularity of the tragic “rom-com,” Channing Tatum’s Blink Twice has been steadily gaining momentum leading up to its release on August 23. The highly anticipated film has now issued a trigger warning ahead of its theatrical debut.

The statement states that Blink Twice is a psychological thriller that focuses on the misuse of authority. Although it is a work of fiction, it portrays mature subjects and displays acts of violence, including sexual violence.

“For certain viewers, this content may cause distress or trigger negative emotions. To access supportive resources, please visit BlinkTwiceResources.com.”

The National Sexual Assault Hotline RAINN and NoMore links are available on the website for individuals outside the US.

The fans have reacted positively to this decision, causing some to question if the Blake Lively movie would have received less scrutiny had it taken a similar approach.

“Are they throwing shade at It Ends With Us? That’s what one commenter suggested, and another agreed, saying, “Looks like Blink Twice is throwing some serious shade at It Ends With Us!”

A third individual commented, “If only that other movie had bothered to do this… you know which one.”

A fourth person added, “They have managed to provide the very basics. Credit to MGM and the Blink Twice team for that.”

Lively’s approach to the film’s storyline has been criticized as being “tone deaf,”with a fan stating, “Blake Lively’s suggestion to ‘bring your friends and your florals’ to watch a film about domestic abuse is extremely insensitive.”

In the meantime, Blink Twice tells the story of tech mogul Slater King (Tatum) who invites cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) on a luxurious vacation to a secluded island. But as their time there becomes increasingly hazy, Frida must work hard to ensure her survival.
