Despite the overwhelming popularity of the tragic “rom-com,” Channing Tatum’s Blink Twice has been steadily gaining momentum leading up to its release on August 23. The highly anticipated film has now issued a trigger warning ahead of its theatrical debut.

The statement states that Blink Twice is a psychological thriller that focuses on the misuse of authority. Although it is a work of fiction, it portrays mature subjects and displays acts of violence, including sexual violence.

The fans have reacted positively to this decision, causing some to question if the Blake Lively movie would have received less scrutiny had it taken a similar approach.

“Are they throwing shade at It Ends With Us? That’s what one commenter suggested, and another agreed, saying, “Looks like Blink Twice is throwing some serious shade at It Ends With Us!”
