Choi Min-ki (REN) held the “2023 REN FAN CONCERT [Ren’dezvous] in HONG KONG”concert at the Music Zone of the Kowloon Bay International Exhibition and Trade Center in Hong Kong at 7 pm on October 22. He came to Hong Kong again after 8 months. show.
During the approximately 2-hour concert, REN sang 10 new songs plus classic songs, and even performed a full chorus. The scene was warm and the audience spent a pleasant evening with MINracle (official fan name). At 7 o’clock in the evening, with the enthusiastic support of fans, REN appeared on the stage wearing a black leather jacket and a large backless dress that caused the audience to scream. He was the first to sing the new song “Imagine More”and the 2017 solo song “PARADISE”. Then he greeted the fans present in Chinese: “Hello everyone, I am REN. I am very happy to meet you all. Please give me your advice.”He said: “This is my second time to perform in Hong Kong this year. I feel very happy to meet MINracle again. “REN expressed that he liked the scenery of Hong Kong very much and revealed that he watched “A Symphony of Lights”at the hotel last night. He even sang a short excerpt of Eason Chan’s “Today Next Year”impromptu a cappella to demonstrate standard Cantonese to fans.
After the opening greetings, we entered the first interactive session “TMI Photo”. For the first time, REN released the precious photos on his mobile phone to share his life moments with his fans. REN showed photos of the scenery of Busan. Born in Busan, he immediately turned into a tourism ambassador and introduced the characteristics of Busan to his fans. REN, who always likes to taste delicious food, shared a photo of hot pot. He smiled and said that he likes to eat mutton skewers the most, and he drank beer while eating.
After the interactive session, REN sang “Oh Little Girl”and “LOCO (9:00 pm)”from his Product 101 period. The two lively pieces of music heated up the atmosphere in the audience.
After a short break, we came to the second interactive session. REN needed to complete the tasks according to the instructions and complete the tasks correctly to pass the level. The confident REN shouted in Cantonese: “I have confidence.”REN performed New Jeans’ “Super Shy”dance in the TIKTOK challenge, and his cute dance moves caused the audience to scream. Later, REN challenged himself to record the Morning Call in Cantonese, take photos of four frames of life, and perform NU’EST’s medley dance. Various tasks were not difficult for him.
After successfully completing 7 tasks, I received a surprise gift prepared by fans. REN will have his birthday on November 3rd. Fans secretly prepared birthday cakes and cheers. Fans in the audience even sang happy birthday songs in Korean and Cantonese to celebrate their idol’s 29th birthday in advance. REN happily said: “I’m really touched., I feel MINracle’s love for me, and I will repay everyone with better works!”
Then came the singing part. He just released his first mini album “Rendezvous”in June this year. REN couldn’t wait to show fans a new stage and sang several new songs in succession, including “Ready to Move”, “Lullaby (11: 03)”, “Autofill”and “My Story”, the varied music styles fully demonstrated REN’s musical talent and stage charm, and fans in the audience also followed suit.
At the end of the concert, REN said with emotion: “This is my 12th year since my debut. Time flies really fast. I am very grateful to MINracle for your company. Coming to the Encore part, REN once again sincerely thanked fans from all over the world for coming to Hong Kong to support him, and expressed many times that he did not want to leave the stage. Finally, REN carefully selected “ROCKET ROCKET”as the last song. This song was written by REN himself, and the song promised fans that we can go further together. REN even went to the stage and walked around the venue to have close contact with the fans, bringing the concert to a perfect end in a warm atmosphere.
