Classroom of the Elite season 4 to Adapt First Semester from Year-2 Light Novels
On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the official staff hosted the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024 livestream, where they revealed a teaser visual and confirmed the production of Classroom of the Elite season 4.
The announcement stated that the fourth season will begin with the Year 2 (First Semester) arc from Syogo Kinugasa’s light novels, Classroom of the Elite: Year 2 sequel. This means that the season will cover volumes 1 through 4.5, out of the total 12.5 that have been released. At the time of writing, no release date has been announced.
The recently unveiled teaser visual for season 4 of Classroom of the Elite showcases Kiyotaka Ayanokoji in his second year, alongside the incoming first-year students donning their school uniforms. The visual also includes a Japanese catchphrase that translates to the following in English:
“Among them is an assassin from the White Room, who is after Ayanokoji.”
Significantly, the staff chose not to disclose key information regarding the upcoming sequel, including the cast, main staff, and production studio. It is unclear if Studio Lerche, who animated the previous season, will once again be involved in the production of Classroom of the Elite season 4.
The previous season featured a talented cast including Shoya Chiba as Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, Akari Kito as Suzune Horikita, Ayana Taketatsu as Kei Karuizawa, Nao Toyama as Honami Ichinose, Rina Hidaka as Arisu Sakayanagi, Masaaki Mizunaka as Kakeru Ryuuen, Toshiki Iwasawa as Rokusuke Koenji, Yurika Kubo as Kikyo, and many more.
Hiroyuki Hashimoto and Seiji Kishi served as the chief directors for season 3, while Yoshihito Nishoji directed the series at Studio Lerche. Hayato Kazano was responsible for the series composition, and Morita Kazuaki designed the characters. Season 1-3 of the show are available for global fans to stream on Crunchyroll.
The story of the Classroom of the Elite: Year 2 sequel light novels is published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, and it is described as follows:
“As Ayanokoji and his classmates begin their second year at the Advanced Nurturing High School, they’re greeted by a fresh gauntlet of exams and a fresh batch of rather unique first-year students.
It goes on:
“They’ll have to get to know each others quickly, because the first special exam pairs the first-years with the second-years on a written test- with only the second-years facing expulsion if their team performs poorly! Worse yet? It seems one of the new first-years is also from the white room.”
Therefore, the upcoming season will determine whether Ayanokoji can successfully prevent expulsion and uncover the true identity of the mysterious adversary.
