Clix Experiences SWAT Incident During Live Streaming Event at Mall

Clix was streaming live on Twitch at a mall when the local police department abruptly closed the building and evacuated everyone inside due to a swatting incident by hoax callers.

On September 14, the Twitch streamer, who boasts nearly eight million followers on the platform, went live and visited the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida. However, his shopping venture with TikTok star Rachel Brockman was interrupted when he revealed that he had been the target of swatting.

“We can’t get out of the mall because one of you guys swatted the mall and said there was a shooting going on in here next to my f**king car. All the f**king stores are locked down,” Clix detailed.

Before concluding his stream, he mentioned, “girls were screaming and crying,” indicating that “every single door has chains over it,” and remarked, “the cops f**king think it’s me.”

Boca Raton Police provided multiple updates via their Twitter/X account as the situation developed. They confirmed that the mall was closed after receiving a threatening call involving Cody Conrod, known as Clix.

“Officers located Conrod inside the mall and he was detained for questioning, during this time the mall was evacuated as a precaution,” the authorities stated in a subsequent press release.

They added: “Members of the Bomb Squad cleared the rental vehicle and as a result of the investigation, nothing suspicious was found. The investigation remains ongoing.”

Clix later shared his thoughts on Twitter/X about the incident, stating, “Wow man, what a f**king disgusting world we live in,” while announcing, “Done with this IRL stream s**t.”

This incident was not Clix’s first experience with swatting; despite the ongoing issues of hoax callers targeting streamers, it continues to be a significant concern for Twitch and other platforms. In 2019, the Fortnite pro was swatted while competing in an FNCS tournament, which forced him to end his stream and exit the match.
