The quest titled “Azani Blackheart”represents the tenth significant challenge within the Fighters Guild questline of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Players embark on this quest subsequent to the completion of “More Unfinished Business”.

This mission is the fifth assignment from Modryn Oreyn, who operates from the Fighters Guild in Chorrol. He enlists your help to investigate the suspicious activities of the Blackwood Company, specifically the unsettling disappearance of his comrades during a previous assignment.

1. How to Complete the Azani Blackheart Quest

To successfully navigate the Azani Blackheart quest, players must accomplish the following objectives:

Consult with Oreyn
Journey to Arpenia
Confront and defeat Azani in Atatar

1.1 Consult with Oreyn

Your first step is to engage in conversation with Modryn Oreyn at the Fighters Guild in Chorrol. He will request you to rendezvous at his residence after nightfall. You can either locate his house on your own or accompany him there, waiting until dusk. His door becomes accessible only when it is deemed safe to enter, at which point you can discuss your upcoming task.

During your conversation, Oreyn will share his concerns about the Blackwood Company, suspecting that they might be plotting against the Fighters Guild due to their willingness to accept any contract, often employing dubious methods.

1.2 Journey to Arpenia

Next, head towards Leyawiin and enter the local Fighters Guild. Upon arrival, you’ll find Modryn upstairs, who will provide you with further instructions. Proceed to accompany him to Arpenia Cave, located just north of Leyawiin.

While exploring Arpenia, you’ll mostly encounter rats and various chests. Upon reaching the cave’s center, Modryn will comment that Azani Blackheart likely resides elsewhere.

Note: If you lag too far behind or rush too far ahead of Modryn during this quest, he will halt and wait for you to rejoin him.

1.3 Defeat Azani in Atatar

Follow Oreyn’s lead to the ruins at Atatar, located north of Arpenia. Be prepared for a more hazardous environment, as this area is inhabited by several hostile enemies. Atatar consists of four levels, with Azani stationed at the deepest level.

As you advance through the first three levels, deal with bandits and evade traps. Upon reaching the fourth level, Atatar Loria, prepare for a formidable battle against Azani, who will summon skeletons to aid him. After successfully defeating him, you can retrieve Blackheart’s Ring from his remains and return it to Oreyn to complete the quest.

2. Rewards for Completing the Azani Blackheart Quest

Upon successful completion of the Azani Blackheart quest, players will receive the following rewards:

Promotion to Warder, which unlocks additional quests within the Fighters Guild.

After defeating Azani, players can obtain Sinweaver, an enchanted Claymore that inflicts Drain Fatigue and Fire Damage to adversaries.
Additionally, remember to loot your fallen foes within Atatar; they carry impressive weaponry and armor.
