The R&D Lab stage in Killing Floor 3 presents numerous challenges, with the first mission being Sample Analysis. Throughout this stage, players are tasked with various objectives while fending off Zeds. Here’s a detailed guide to help you navigate through the chaos of the Sample Analysis mission.
Completing the Sample Analysis Mission in Killing Floor 3
Identifying Zed Tech Locations
Your first task involves gathering all three Zed Tech components situated within the R&D Lab, specifically in the Testing Chamber and the Holding Cells. These areas are adjacent to one another, making traversal easier.
If you’re struggling to locate the Testing Chamber, look for directional signs located above the doorways throughout the stage. Making your way to the Atrium will grant access to all other areas of the R&D Lab. Doorways that connect to various levels, including the ground, second, and third floors, are marked with these helpful signs. Aim for the second floor where you’ll find an entrance near the staircase as depicted in the image above.
Upon entering the Testing Chamber, you’ll encounter a large, open area. Look for a pile of rubble equipped with a ramp leading to the second floor.The first Zed Tech component is located on this rubble.
While facing the Zed Tech location in the rubble, your next move is to head to the room directly behind you.
This room is known as the Holding Cells, where you’ll want to check the middle cell. It features gruesome sights of blood, corpses, and limbs—it’s unsettling but safe. Despite the horror, the Zeds inside these cells pose no threat; they will not break through the glass.
The second and third Zed Tech components are located within two of these cells. Given the limited space, they are easily identifiable as you explore each cell. Once you have collected all three components, be prepared for further instructions if the round is still ongoing.
Restoring Power in the Lab
Your next mission objective is to restore power to the lab and utilize the machinery available inside. If approaching from the Testing Chambers, this lab is located on the opposite side of the map.
To reach the lab, navigate back through the Atrium and locate the doorway on the second floor. Once inside, your task is to get the power restored and complete any remaining objectives in the lab.
Keep an eye out for further communications, especially if you managed to complete this task during an ongoing wave.
Finding the Incident Log in the Atrium
Returning to the Atrium, you’ll observe a significant pile of rubble in the center. Nearby, you’ll find the Incident Log, which is crucial for completing your mission objectives.
After selecting the Incident Log, your current status will update to indicate “Complete current Survival match, ” indicating that you must finish the match to finalize the mission.
Confronting the Final Boss
As with every stage, a boss wave awaits you at the end of the mission. Depending on the difficulty level and the size of your party, you may face one or multiple bosses.
For optimal boss fighting conditions, transition to a wide-open area such as the Testing Chamber or Atrium. Even players using melee-focused classes will benefit from the spaciousness, allowing for better mobility. The Testing Chamber is especially advantageous, featuring fewer obstacles and a turret located in the corner for added support.
Defeat the boss, and your Sample Analysis mission will be successfully complete!
