The table below features every playable character and opponent within the Street Fighter franchise. Characters that exist solely within the storyline or are mentioned in Street Fighter 6’s expansive World Tour Mode are not included, such as Retsu. Additionally, characters from the Street Fighter EX series are excluded because these were created by Arika, and Capcom does not possess the rights to its original characters. However, with the arrival of Street Fighter 6, there is a possibility for crossover characters to join the main series in the future.

Any character designated as playable within a particular series is playable in every subsequent version of that game (for instance, a character featured in Street Fighter Alpha can also be played in Alpha 2 and Alpha 3). The one exception is noted beneath the table. Consequently, you can view the table below as depicting each character available in the ultimate version of every Street Fighter title.

Additional important details concerning specific characters are indicated in parentheses beneath their names.

Note on Ultra Street Fighter 2:

Evil Ryu, Violent Ken, and Shin Akuma were introduced in the Street Fighter 2 series through Ultra Street Fighter 2, which launched in 2017—23 years after Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, and 26 years post the initial Street Fighter 2. Although they are part of the Street Fighter 2 roster, their introduction came in later titles.

Note on 2nd Impact:

Shin Akuma is exclusively playable in Street Fighter 3: 2nd Impact as a hidden character. He does not appear in the final game version, 3rd Strike, making him the only Street Fighter 3 character not featured in subsequent iterations.

Currently, Street Fighter 5 boasts the most extensive roster among Street Fighter games, having had several years to expand its character lineup. Street Fighter 6 may reintroduce classic characters, unveil newcomers, or even showcase more crossover characters in the future—opening the door to endless possibilities.
