Just over a year following its launch, the latest update for Pokemon Sleep introduces Smart Watch functionality. Players can now utilize their sleep data on a Smart Watch for Pokemon Sleep, eliminating the need to place their phone on the bed or rely on the Pokemon Go Plus+ device.
The Pokemon Company declared on X, accompanied by a blog post that elaborates on the supported Smart Watch devices moving forward.
How to Connect Your Smart Watch to Pokemon Sleep
To link your Smart Watch with Pokemon Sleep, players must utilize either Apple Health or the Health Connect app to record sleep data, which can then be accessed within the game.
Ensure you have the latest version of the game to allow either Apple Health or Health Connect app to track your sleep and grant Pokemon Sleep access to that data. For further details, see below:
Linking Pokemon Sleep with an Apple Watch
Players wanting to connect Pokemon Sleep with an Apple Watch should adhere to the following instructions:
- Ensure you are using the latest version of Pokemon Sleep.
- If you haven’t completed the tutorial, in the main lobby, click ‘Pair Device’.
- If the tutorial is completed, navigate to Settings & More in the main menu, then select ‘Pair Device’.
- Click on ‘Pair Smartwatch’.
- When prompted to link with Apple Health, tap ‘Pair a Device’.
- In the Health Access settings, click ‘Turn on All’ to permit Pokemon Sleep to read sleep data.
- When asked to ‘Select a data source’, click on ‘Pair a Device’.
- You should see the message ‘You have successfully linked your account with Apple Health’.
- Tap ‘OK’ to exit this menu.
- After tracking your sleep, select ‘Sync/Settings’ from the main Pokemon Sleep screen.
- Next, tap ‘Sync Data’.
- You should see ‘Sleep Data found in Apple Health’; tap ‘OK’.
- Once your sleep data appears, press ‘OK’.
- Finally, tap ‘Start Now’ to begin accessing your sleep data.
Compatibility of Pokemon Sleep with Apple Watch
Pokemon Sleep has stated that the following Apple Watch models are not compatible:
- Apple Watch (1st Generation)
- Apple Watch Series 1
- Apple Watch Series 2 (All Models)
All Apple Watch models released after these are compatible with Pokemon Sleep as of this writing.
Connecting Pokemon Sleep with Galaxy Watch, Google Watch, or FitBit
Players who wish to connect Pokemon Sleep with a Galaxy Watch, Google Watch, or FitBit should follow these steps:
- Confirm you are using the latest version of the game.
- If you haven’t finished the tutorial, click ‘Pair Device’ in the main lobby.
- If the tutorial is completed, go to Settings & More in the main menu and select ‘Pair Device’.
- Click on ‘Pair Smartwatch’.
- When asked if you want to link with Health Connect, tap ‘Pair a Device’.
- In the Health Connect settings, click ‘Allow All’ to enable Pokemon Sleep to read sleep data.
- When prompted to ‘Select a data source’, click ‘Pair a Device’.
- You should receive a confirmation message stating ‘You have successfully linked your account with Health Connect’.
- Tap ‘OK’ to exit.
- After tracking your sleep, select ‘Sync/Settings’ from the main Pokemon Sleep screen.
- Next, tap ‘Sync Data’.
- You should see ‘Sleep Data found in Health Connect’; tap ‘OK’.
- Once your sleep data is displayed, press ‘OK’.
- Finally, tap ‘Start Now’ to begin accessing your sleep data.
Functionality of Pokemon Sleep with Galaxy Watch, Google Watch, and FitBit
Pokemon Sleep is compatible with most recent Galaxy Watch, Google Watch, and FitBit devices; however, the following older models are not compatible with the game:
