Crunchyroll recently announced the results of its annual poll, revealing which characters stole viewers’ hearts in 2023.
The end of the year is synonymous with award ceremonies in the world of entertainment: the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the Césars, the Game Awards… it’s impossible not to hear about these prestigious ceremonies used to take stock of a year, whether it’s films, series, video games… or even anime.
Because Crunchyroll has also set itself the mission of rewarding the animated series that leave an impression on viewers each year. And while the polls are pouring in to determine the most deserving, there are some who will never cease to surprise and revive debates: which character was the spectators’ biggest crush?
The beauty of an anime is not limited to its animation or its designs, it must be recognized that the characters are sometimes sufficient reasons to follow a story. Some are even so popular that they come to dethrone the heroes of the works in which they were born.
So, who was the biggest crush among anime viewers in 2023?
Which anime character was the audience’s crush in 2023?
The big winner has a habit of stealing the show from the other characters: Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen was the spectators’ biggest crush for the year 2023, in the Crunchyroll global poll.
He thus won ahead of Yor Forger from SPY x FAMILY and Kento Nanami, also from Jujutsu Kaisen. The full ranking can be viewed below:

- 3 – Kento Nanami (Jujutsu Kaisen)
- 4 – Vash the Stampede (Trigun Stampede)
- 5 – Hua Cheng (Heaven Official’s Blessing)
- 6 – Loid Forger (SPY x FAMILY)
- 7 – Suguru Geto (Jujutsu Kaisen)
- 8 – Ex-aequo, Frieren (Frieren) et Toji Fushiguro (Jujutsu Kaisen)
- 9 – Osamu Dazai (Skull Stray Dogs)
- 10 – Nicholas D. Wolfwood (Trigun Stampede)
If SPY x FAMILY and Trigun Stampede did well with two characters in the top 10, Jujutsu Kaisen exploded with four of its heroes winning many votes. We can also count the honorable mention for Nobara Kugisaki, whose fate was very cruel in the second season of the series.
Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen is over, but the third has already been announced for 2024. And the arc that will be adapted, the Murderous Hunt, will once again feature many charismatic characters.
