CUBE Entertainment, renowned for being home to popular groups such as (G)I-DLE, is currently facing a notable surge of departures as several artists have opted to leave the company in the last nine months.
Starting in October 2023, CUBE Entertainment began a series of departures as key members of its roster bid farewell.
Last year, five members – YeoOne, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok – left PENTAGON after their contracts expired, despite being considered crucial members of the group.
In November, Hongseok also joined, marking a significant change in the group’s lineup shortly after.
In a shocking turn of events, CUBE Entertainment announced in November 2023 that six members of BTOB had also left the company, leaving both fans and industry insiders surprised.
This event resulted in the formation of BTOB Company as a subsidiary of DOD Entertainment, allowing them to continue their group endeavors.
In 2024, Na In Woo, known for his role in “Marry My Husband,”became the first non-music artist to leave CUBE Entertainment.
The start of a larger pattern of departures from the agency was signaled by his leaving on January 18.
CLC, a female music group managed by CUBE, experienced another obstacle in March 2024 when Seunghee chose not to extend her contract due to ongoing worries about the treatment of group members, mirroring previous accusations made by fellow CLC member Sorn.
In addition to the previously announced departures, Jo Kwon of 2AM also announced his departure from the agency a few months later, after seven years of being with them.
Most recently, it was announced on July 11 that Yoo Seon Ho, the current lead actor in “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract,”would also be leaving the show.
These departures have prompted conversations within the entertainment industry and among fans regarding the future direction of CUBE Entertainment.
Despite (G)I-DLE’s ongoing success as a leading group within the label, the departure of multiple established artists has sparked concerns regarding the management of the company and its capability to retain talented individuals.
