David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, is currently confined in a segregated single cell with minimal amenities as he anticipates his forthcoming court session in Los Angeles. Reports indicate that his conditions include no access to a television, restricted visitor interactions, and limited outdoor time.

This past week, Burke faced serious legal repercussions when he was charged with first-degree murder under special circumstances in connection with the tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole or, alternatively, face the death penalty.

Burke has formally pled not guilty to the charges against him.

Conditions of D4vd’s Detention Revealed

New insights into Burke’s prison conditions have surfaced through a report by TMZ. He resides in a solitary cell and is escorted for showers, which he is permitted to take every other day. Notably, he can only make phone calls on shower days. Furthermore, it’s reported that he receives a mere three hours of outdoor recreation each week, devoid of any interaction with fellow inmates during this time.

Burke’s access to basic comforts is severely curtailed, lacking a television and the ability to receive visitors, compounded by an absence of funds in his jail account.

An anonymous law enforcement official described the facility as “dirty, ” noting an unpleasant odor and referring to it as “wild.” It is significant to mention that Burke is not currently on suicide watch, which might indicate an assessment of his mental state during this time.

This latest development closely follows the announcement from Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman, who disclosed the formal charges against Burke in relation to the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Investigations suggest that Burke allegedly subjected the young girl to prolonged abuse prior to her tragic death, with her remains discovered in the trunk of a Tesla linked to him, following its impoundment in September 2025.

Furthermore, it has been reported that Burke was denied bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 23, 2026, as the legal proceedings progress.
