David Corenswet Hilariously Reveals Superman HBO Max Release Date

James Gunn has officially confirmed the streaming date for Superman on HBO Max, following the exciting reveal by David Corenswet, who humorously described his leak with an “Eve Teschmacher impression.”

Regardless of differing opinions among DCEU enthusiasts, it’s clear that Superman achieved significant success at the box office, grossing over $615 million globally. The film received praise from critics and audiences alike, successfully laying the foundation for Gunn’s planned DC Universe (DCU) expansions, including upcoming projects like Supergirl, Lanterns, and Clayface, set to release next year.

Although the film made its digital debut earlier than expected, this was not due to any underwhelming performance in theaters. Gunn clarified that the decision was made to maximize viewership ahead of the highly anticipated premiere of Peacemaker Season 2, which serves as a direct sequel to the movie.

HBO Max Streaming Date for Superman

Fans can look forward to streaming Superman on HBO Max starting this Friday, September 19. This date follows just over a month after its digital release on August 15.

Gunn revealed the streaming date through a post on Threads, though Corenswet had initially hinted at it earlier by sharing a selfie that showcased Superman’s streaming interface behind him.

In his post, Corenswet remarked, “Doing my best Eve Teschmacher impression, ” a clever reference to how Sara Sampaio’s character relayed vital information about Lex Luthor through selfies and discreet photographs.

The early release of Superman may also be tied to the ongoing Peacemaker series. The fifth episode is set to air this week, and it is the final episode critics were given access to in advance. Gunn has maintained a tight seal on the content of episodes six through eight, hinting at potential cameos from Superman and/or Lex Luthor, which could entice more fans to revisit the film before diving back into the series.
