Deku in My Hero Academia is what Minato Namikaze would’ve been as an MC

Despite making relatively few appearances, Minato Namikaze, also known as Konoha’s Yellow Flash, remains one of the most beloved characters in the Naruto franchise. His son may have a more brash personality, but Minato’s humble and respectful nature has endeared him to fans and is a major reason for his enduring popularity.

Despite not being an obvious comparison, there are similarities that can be drawn between My Hero Academia and the Naruto franchise, specifically between the characters Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and Minato Namikaze. While fans may not initially expect it, both characters share a comforting and humble demeanor, making them more alike than meets the eye.

Despite not having as much screen time as other characters, Minato Namikaze is a standout figure who captures the attention of viewers. As the Fourth Hokage of Konoha and the father of Naruto Uzumaki, his impact on the storyline cannot be overlooked. Not only was he known as the Yellow Flash of Konoha, but his reputation spread far and wide, making him feared in every village.

Despite his immense power, Minato was not arrogant. In fact, he was an incredibly humble and polite individual who showed respect to his opponents.

Despite his occasional sympathy towards his opponents, this endearing trait endeared him to the fans and solidified his position as one of the most beloved characters in the Naruto series.

Minato Namikaze’s many qualities have left fans yearning for a series centered solely around him. With his immense popularity and significant impact on the Naruto series, even in his brief appearances, fans are confident that Minato would thrive as a main character.

Despite this, there is a character who closely resembles Minato if he were the main character, and that character is none other than Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia, also known as Deku.

At first glance, the two characters may not seem to have a strong physical resemblance, but their personalities are remarkably similar. Deku, the main character in My Hero Academia, was initially born without a Quirk in a world where Quirks and Heroes were commonplace.

Since the start, he had been an incredibly introverted and meek person, constantly targeted by Katsuki Bakugo. Despite enduring constant bullying, Deku never displayed any animosity towards anyone.

Despite gaining incredible strength from the One For All Quirk, Deku remained true to his morals. His unfailingly polite and kind demeanor endeared him to every character he encountered. Additionally, he always sought to understand and redeem even his most formidable adversaries.

Due to his past experiences of powerlessness, Deku has a deep understanding of the importance of strength. He consistently uses his strength to protect and assist others, and frequently goes above and beyond to rescue those in need.

In addition, he possesses exceptional intelligence, as he has demonstrated an ability to assess his adversaries and strategize a method to overcome them without inflicting significant harm.

After comparing the two characters, it becomes clear that they share many similarities. Despite their immense strength, both characters remain humble, reliable, and kind. Additionally, they possess a shyness uncommon among shonen main characters and are equally polite.

Hence, it can be inferred that if Minato Namikaze had been the main character of a series solely centered on him, he would have possessed similar traits and qualities as Deku does presently.

Despite his limited screen time, Minato remains a pivotal character in the Naruto franchise due to the significant impact he had on the story.
