Demon Slayer and MHA beaten by surprise anime on Netflix

Despite Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia being highly anticipated releases this season, a new anime has already surpassed them by taking the top spot on the TV shows ranking on Netflix Philippines.

Kaiju No. 8, the latest major release of Spring 2024, has quickly gained popularity as a fan-favorite anime. Despite strong competition from Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia, many lists have named Kaiju No. 8 as a top contender for the best anime of the season.

The latest anime debuted on April 13, 2024 and has already aired seven episodes. It was met with a favorable reception from viewers, who were intrigued by the concept of the show and impressed by its animation and pacing.

Despite the fact that My Hero Academia Season 4 premiered on May 4 and Demon Slayer on May 12, Kaiju No. 8’s popularity has reportedly been affected. The presence of these popular franchises may have caused viewers to prioritize them over the new release, or at least that was the perception.

Despite this, the ‘Top 10 TV Shows’ list of Netflix Philippines proves that there remains a devoted following for Kaiju No. 8. In fact, in the Philippines, a growing number of individuals are favoring the new monster anime over popular series such as MHA and Demon Slayer.

Despite being criticized for including anime-only scenes, it’s not entirely surprising that Demon Slayer Season 4 has faced some backlash. Similarly, MHA has also received some negative feedback for its pacing, although My Hero Academia Season 7 has not yet faced similar complaints.

Despite facing some small obstacles, Kaiju No. 8 has managed to reach its full potential in the Philippines. However, in the USA and other countries, Demon Slayer and MHA continue to hold the top spots on everyone’s watchlist.

Fans of Kaiju No. 8 are feeling content now that the anime is finally receiving the recognition it deserves. As expressed by a user on Reddit, “Yes, that’s exactly how it should be!”

One more person chimed in, exclaiming, “The power is only getting stronger!!!”Meanwhile, another person interjected, “And yet, there are still some who doubt the show’s success…”

Despite only being available on Netflix in select countries, the ranking on Netflix Philippines demonstrates the quality of Kaiju No. 8 as an anime worth watching. Additionally, all three anime, including Kaiju No. 8, can be found on Crunchyroll.
