Destiny 2 Pantheon Guide: All Bosses & Rewards

With the latest update, Bungie has added the highly demanding activity Pantheon, catering to dedicated PvE end-game players. This gauntlet of raid bosses progressively becomes more difficult as players advance, but the rewards make the effort worthwhile.

For those curious about the bosses they will encounter in the Pantheon and which ones will be included, we have all the necessary information to keep you informed.

What is Pantheon in Destiny 2?

The Pantheon, which was added in the Into the Light update for Destiny 2, offers a time-sensitive endgame challenge. With the upcoming release of The Final Shape expansion, players will only have a limited time to complete this challenge before the servers shut down. This gives players a window of opportunity from April 30 to June 4 to conquer The Pantheon and reap its rewards. So start grinding now!

Pantheon’s structure will bear a strong resemblance to that of Nightfall. Your team’s score will be enhanced by earning medals and conquering challenges quickly. The loot you receive upon completing the encounter will be determined by the score achieved by your fireteam. The pinnacle accomplishment of securing a Platinum score not only earns you Adept weapons, but also high-stat armor and Spoils of Conquest. Completing the entire gauntlet also presents the chance to acquire a raid Exotic from Arcite 99-40 by completing a quest.

After finishing an activity, players can gather at a flag and begin the next encounters. In order to successfully complete the Pantheon run and satisfy Shaxx’s weekly mission, each boss encounter in the gauntlet must be defeated.

All Destiny 2 Pantheon Boss Encounters

Every week leading up to May 21, an additional boss will be included in the Pantheon gauntlet and the maximum power level for Guardians will decrease by 5. By the time May 21 arrives, the Pantheon will consist of 8 bosses with a maximum level of -20 Light.

All of the bosses listed below will make an appearance in the Pantheon during the first week:

  • Golgoroth (King’s Fall)
  • The Caretaker (Vow of the Disciple)
  • Zo’aurc, Explicator of Planets (Root of Nightmares)
  • Atraks-1 (Deep Stone Crypt)

The first week’s Pantheon gauntlet is Atraks Sovereign, which involves defeating four bosses from various raids: Golgoroth from King’s Fall, the Caretaker from Vow of the Disciple, the Explicator from Root of Nightmares, and Atraks-1 from Deep Stone Crypt.

The encounters in question will operate in a nearly identical manner to their corresponding raids, with only a few slight modifications:

  • Golgoroth – Players must look out for two instances of Unstable Light per damage puddle. One player must run Unstable Light to Golgorth as per usual, and the other should head off to the side to prevent deaths. There are also more enemies present in this fight compared to the classic raid version.
  • Caretaker – The only notable difference in the Pantheon version is that the Caretaker’s missiles will now appear in the Crux rooms with runners. Also, there will be more enemies present.
  • Zo’aurc – In the Pantheon version, there are several changes to this encounter. Firstly, enemy density has been greatly increased. Also, a Tormentor will spawn after the planters have been aligned, but it will de-spawn once the boss DPS phase commences. Additional Centurions will also spawn between the two platforms on both sides of the arena. Finally, Zo’aurc will summon multiple fire tornadoes throughout the fight, and these tornadoes will mainly target plate runners.
  • In the Pantheon version of Atraks-1, a Tormentor will now appear on every floor after the Servitors have been eliminated.

Destiny 2 Pantheon Week 1 Rewards

If you’ve been debating whether or not to run Destiny 2’s Pantheon, the rewards it offers might be just the thing to help you make a decision.

By completing Pantheon, you will receive a variety of weapons and armor from existing raids. The loot you obtain will vary depending on which bosses you must defeat each week.

Upon successful completion of each encounter in the Pantheon, you will be rewarded with the following:

  • 2 Raid Weapons
  • 1 Adept Raid Weapon (Platinum score)
  • 1 Raid Armor Piece

Players who have been unable to finish all raids now have the chance to “speedrun”through multiple raids. However, instead of completing an entire raid, they only need to finish the boss encounters to acquire raid-specific items.

One of the most satisfying aspects of finishing Pantheon is the “Divine Weaponry”quest. Upon completion, players will receive a guaranteed raid Exotic. To finish this quest, all that is required is defeating all the bosses in Pantheon, and Shaxx will offer a selection of exclusive raid Exotics as a reward.

During the first week of Pantheon, the “Divine Weaponry” quest will offer the following Exotics as options:

  • Touch of Malice (Scout Rifle)
  • Eyes of Tomorrow (Rocket Launcher)

Based on trustworthy data gathered, the following are the Exotic raids that will be accessible prior to the release of The Final Shape in June:

  • Conditional Finality (Shotgun)
  • One Thousand Voices (Fusion Rifle)
  • Collective Obligation (Pulse Rifle)

Therefore, you now have knowledge of all the bosses and rewards that you will encounter during Pantheon week one. We will continue to keep this article up-to-date as the rewards and bosses will be modified leading up to The Final Shape.
