Kim Jae-young Celebrates Successful Drama Ratings
With a radiant smile, actor Kim Jae-young expressed his excitement over the impressive ratings of his latest show, stating, “I’m thrilled the show did well in ratings. From the very first time I read the script, I knew it would be an intriguing drama, and I was excited to be part of it.”
A New Adventure in Fantasy
This marks Kim’s debut in the fantasy genre, and he admitted, “I was curious to see how it would come alive on screen.” The drama has captivated audiences, leading to considerable viewer engagement.
Audience Reactions Highlight Character Appeal
Kim has been actively monitoring audience feedback. He shared, “What struck me was seeing people describe my character as cute, like a puppy. There were even playful comments suggesting, ‘Don’t show up again and interfere with Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye)’ after my character made an unexpected reappearance, despite facing a death scene in Episode 2,” he chuckled.
Insights from Behind the Scenes
Reflecting on the atmosphere during filming, Kim noted the director’s first-time nerves regarding ratings. He shared, “He had every right to be anxious; we were all hoping for over 10% viewership, especially given the success of the previous show, Good Partner. Some of our action scenes took three consecutive days to film—physically challenging, yet enjoyable.”
As the ratings started to soar, Kim admitted, “I had this exhilarating thought that maybe this could finally be my breakthrough. I’ve been involved in various projects, but this is the first time I’ve experienced such a high viewership. It was always a dream of mine to be part of a drama that achieved double-digit ratings, and witnessing it happen is truly rewarding.”
Increased Recognition and Support
With the show’s success, Kim has noticed a rise in recognition from the public. “Now, when I stroll around, people recognize me more often. I’ve received numerous messages from friends applauding the drama,” he stated.
