Diablo 4 has recently introduced an exciting crossover DLC featuring themes from the acclaimed dark fantasy manga, Berserk. This offers players a chance to outfit their characters in stellar new cosmetics inspired by the legendary series. However, the substantial $150 price point is causing quite a stir, even among die-hard fans of Berserk.

From May 6 until June 3, players can explore the in-game store to acquire a variety of Berserk-inspired items. The DLC package includes six individual cosmetic collections. Four of these are outfits tailored for the Barbarian, Rogue, and Necromancer classes. Additionally, there is a pet bundle that reflects the characteristics of the Chimimoryo, an astral creature encountered by Guts in the Qliphoth narrative.

The final item offered is the Warhorse of the Hawk, which is equipped with the Fantasia Mount, Fantasia’s Bridle, Reborn Band of the Hawk Mount Trophy, alongside the God Hand’s Gift Mount Trophy.

Community Reactions to the $150 Berserk DLC

While the visuals of this DLC are undoubtedly striking, the steep price has left many players unsettled. The items must be purchased separately, meaning players who wish to fully complete their Guts-themed ensemble face significant costs. To acquire everything in the DLC, players must accumulate a total of 16, 500 Platinum. However, as pointed out by a Reddit user, the only complete bundle available amounts to 18, 500 Platinum, which is priced at an eye-watering $149.99.

Critics have drawn comparisons to the physical editions of the Berserk manga, with Rock Paper Shotgun highlighting that one could purchase four deluxe hardback volumes for just $140. For those willing to spend a little more, an extra $49.99 would even secure Gut’s iconic Dragon Slayer Sword bookend, totaling $199.99.

Understandably, the pricing strategy has ignited frustration within the Diablo 4 community, with many vocalizing their disapproval of Blizzard’s approach to DLC pricing.

One frustrated player expressed on Reddit, “The individual prices are absurd; they should represent a complete bundle! You can hardly see the cosmetics on character models, making it difficult to justify any purchases.”

Another user chimed in, saying, “Berserk is amazing, but not at this cost. Guts and Griffith don’t warrant such a hefty price tag, ”echoing the sentiments of many in the community.
