Diablo 4 Players Concerned About the Impact of Forced Group Play on Vessel of Hatred

The developers of Diablo 4 have already disclosed several significant features for the upcoming Vessel of Hatred DLC, and one in particular is causing concern among players.

Despite some setbacks, Diablo 4 has experienced a surge in success with the recent release of Season 4, which has seen a record-breaking number of players. Additionally, the highly anticipated Vessel of Hatred trailer has been released, contributing to the game’s continued popularity. In addition to a confirmed release date, the developers have also shared new details and features for the upcoming expansion.

One of the most striking features is the inclusion of group play, where players must work together to tackle the challenges of a Dungeon. This bears a strong resemblance to the multiplayer raids and group tasks found in other games of this genre, causing concern among D4 players.

The discussion in the Diablo 4 subreddit was initiated by Reddit user ‘Angren1991’, who also asked for the community’s opinion. However, the user expressed their dislike for “forced group play in an ARPG”and requested a solo option.

To provide context, Vessel of Hatred will introduce a large Dungeon with challenging obstacles and enticing rewards, requiring players to join forces with others to conquer it. While it may resemble raids seen in Destiny 2 and other MMOs, Blizzard has not yet announced the official name of this game mode.

Alongside a new class, Vessel of Hatred will have new game modes as well.

“A concerned player expressed their hope for the addition of an LFR (Looking For Raid) in this mode, stating that it is crucial for its success. Other players also commented on the importance of this feature, finding it troubling that Blizzard has not included it in their expansion promotions.”

The addition of a group finder has been a highly requested feature for multiplayer in Diablo 4, but Blizzard has yet to include it. With the upcoming expansion introducing a new raid-like game mode, many players believe that it is finally time for this feature to be implemented.

Another player remarked that while these ideas may seem promising on paper, they often end up being failures. Many were certain that the raid mode in Diablo 4 would not be successful without a LFR or group finder feature, with some even predicting it would be “dead”without them.

Blizzard will be hosting a Campfire Chat in the near future to discuss the upcoming expansion. It will be intriguing to observe how the developers approach this feature and what it entails.
