Diablo 4 revives vampire powers in its mid-season update

The Vampiric Powers will return to Diablo 4 Season 3 during the mid-season update. But they will not return as Uniques.

Diablo 4 Season 2 introduced vampire-based abilities, significantly changing the mechanics of many builds.

To the great dismay of active players, Blizzard removed these skills at the start of Season 3. A recent hint from the studio, however, hinted at their imminent return, sparking impatience among fans.

The Campfire Chat aired on February 29 confirmed that the Season 3 mid-season update would indeed bring back at least some of the skill arsenal from Season 2.

Here are the vampire powers returning in season 3 of Diablo 4

This Blizzard Campfire Chat detailed what’s planned in the mid-season update coming Tuesday, March 5.

During the stream, the developers confirmed that specific vampire powers from the Season of Blood would be returning to Sanctuary. However, they will be reintroduced as Legendary Aspects – not Unique.

Although the powers will largely match their previous functionality, players should not expect an exact conversion. Minor adjustments have been made to make the powers “permanent” and “long-lasting” . This should help them fit into the “mix-and-match format of the Aspect system” .

Here are the vampiric powers that will return in Season 3 of Diablo 4: Cursed Touch, Boiling Blood, Agitation, Transfiguration, Twilight and Immortality. (For an overview of vampire powers as Legendary Aspects, see the screenshots below)

As the team noted in chat, the fan-favorite Transfiguration ability received the biggest buff of all the vampire powers. However, players will notice that the cooldown of Dodge has increased by 5 seconds between seasons.

Diablo 4 users will be able to test all this and more when the mid-season update arrives on March 5.
